Lovely Ranunculus
These have to be the prettiest, most perfect deep cerise pink Ranunculus (or buttercup) flowers that I have seen in a while. I saw them at the Mill Hill Cemetery. I suspect it is a variety of Ranunculus asiaticus or Persian buttercup, but I can’t be sure. Ranunculus asiaticus is a tuberous perennial, native to S Europe, SW Asia, with long-stalked, deeply lobed leaves. Whatever this plant is, it’s lovely. Emergent deep-purple crocuses at the bottom of the shot add a nice accent.
